Praying - Before and After - you Sin

Luke's version of the Lord's prayer (from Luke 11.2-4):

2. Father, hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
3. Give us each day our daily bread.
4. And forgive us our sins, for we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us.
And lead us not into temptation.

Could it be that the reason some of us end up praying verse 4a more often than we'd like is because we pray verse 4b less often then we should?

Its amazing what prayer can do to bring you back to your senses when you are being tempted to say or do something wrong. You are right; we shouldn't just pray for forgiveness for failures, but pray for victory over the enemy as well.
